FleishmanHillard HR Generalist in Washington, District Of Columbia

The HR Generalist will support our 110+ employees in all areas of Talent Management, including recruiting, onboarding, operations, learning & development and more. Your ability to balance multiple priorities, maintain highly organized workflows, and provide excellent internal customer service will be key to achieving our strategic goals. This position is based in Washington, D.C. and is expected to visit our office 3 days a week, though we are flexible when life happens! The ideal candidate:

  • Is an organized self-starter who is a pro at prioritizing and multi-tasking throughout the day

  • Prides themself on the quality of their work and their ability to problem solve

  • Has top-notch verbal and written communications skills

  • Is enthusiastic about learning and supporting multiple functions, and working with leaders across the firm, as well as making connections around our parent company

  • Has exceptional attention to detail, process building and project management skills

  • Is motivated to be part of a lean but impactful team, and believes no job is too small

  • Is excited to be in-office with colleagues a few days a week and believes in contributing to a warm, dynamic workplace

  • You ideally have 5-7 years of experience in HR with experience executing payroll and benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Recruiting + Onboarding:

  • Sourcing + screening candidates; manage DDC’s external job postings and work with digital team to amplify key open positions; partner with CPO to develop and evolve our external messaging to prospective employees

  • Offer letter management, professional references and background consent forms, and the I-9 e-verify process.

  • Creates and maintains new hire employee files; communicating new hires and changes to both payroll department and broader agency, as well as processing position changes and terminations in the HRIS.

  • Facilitate New Employee Orientation sessions, helping new team members understand the firm and get excited about diving in

  • Manage DDC’s internship program; manage DDC’s relationship with some colleges to ensure a pipeline of great junior talent

  • Compensation and Benefits :

  • payroll, healthcare/benefits, retirement plan services, and immigration, all in partnership with our parent company

  • HRBP : performance management, employee relations, employee engagement/retention, coaching and counseling.

  • partnering with the CPO and team leads to administer the twice-annual performance review process. This includes communicating with the firm around timing, guiding employees through the process, ensuring reviews are completed, and working with leadership on administering salary actions

  • lead the administration of the annual employee survey, including development of questions and analysis of results

  • Talent Development:

  • Training/learning and leadership development, internal communications, employee engagement and DE&I

  • Misc:

  • Front lines of company culture; collaborates and supports on all company events, virtual & IRL

  • Utilizes HR systems to execute and analyze annual / ad-hoc reporting metrics and HR data.

  • maintain DDC’s org chart with a high level of detail
